Kathy Smith

Hi, Kathy Smith here! I’m a Trauma-informed ASD Parent/Family Coach and PDA/Autism/ADHD Advocate for both children and adults. Being an adult PDA AuDHDer myself and the mother to a young PDA AuDHD child, I also have the lived experience to fully understand, support, and empathize with the many struggles and lack of support available to the many burnt out families dealing with these disabilities everyday.

Through my background in Early Childhood Development, PDA/Autism/ND Support, and facilitating play to heal Attachment Trauma within family systems through @interplayfamilytherapy, I focus on empowering families with compassionate support and expert guidance.

Interplay is a dyadic, non-directive, attachment-based play therapy model that turns the table on children and their “big behaviors.”

Interplay facilitators reframe all “attention-seeking” as connection-seeking, and place their focus on meeting needs rather than changing behavior (the child’s behavior will naturally change once their needs are met).

I envision a world where parents and children with disabilities can build strong, loving relationships, and thrive together.

Through our work together, I aim to illuminate the unspoken experiences of children with disabilities, helping parents understand and respond to their unique needs.

By fostering a deeper understanding and connection, I strive to transform lives, enhance relationships, and create a brighter future for all.
